ARC Review: Forbidden Bond by Lee Colgin

What happens when you start to fall in love with somebody you’re not to supposed to?

Forbidden Bond is a low-angst, steamy, enemies to lovers, vampire-werewolf romance. The world building on this one was interesting. The news articles helped a lot with the setting, timewise, eventwise and background info.

Even with tensions rising between the vampires and the werewolves despite their peace treaty, Sinclair decided to pursue his doctorate at a university ran by werewolves. Basically throwing himself into the wolves lot.

Mitchell, a descendant of an old werewolf bloodline, has only known the feeling of hatred and animosity towards vampires.

Then these two crossed paths. It wasn’t love a first sight. It was a slow burn. Everything was slow burn for Sinclair, even winning his friends and finding his place in the university wasn’t easy in the beginning.

I enjoyed reading the gradual change of Mitch’s and Sinclair’s relationship. Same goes with Sinclair’s relationship with the rest of the pack. There’s years of bad blood between these species that they all had to learn to move past. Sinclair is a saint with his patience.

What I’d have loved to see more of was the scene between Sinclair putting his foot down with the pack. Same goes with him winning Marcus’ approval and eventually affection, I wish that was on page too.

All in all, it’s a fun read. It’s action-filled, good world building and I like the unique lore of the ‘living vampires’. I’d recommend this one for readers of MM romance, enemies to lovers, an alpha wolf and an academic vampire, slow burn but definitely a well-deserved HEA.
